Ambassadors

As an Ambassador for the UK Landscape Award you will be asked to do the following:

  • Receive training via a tool kit and support to enable you to perform this role.
  • Spend time over a period of six months informing people about the UK Landscape Award and the European Landscape Convention by finding and contacting potential entrants.
  • Helping to organise events linked to the promotion and judging of the Award.

What qualities will an Ambassador have?

  • Ability to learn about the European Landscape Convention and communicate it to others
  • Enthusiasm for promoting landscape
  • Confidence to approach existing contacts or affiliates and organise on behalf of the campaign
  • Some dedicated time – when you put yourself forward as an ambassador you are confirming your commitment to promoting the Award to potential entrants.

You will be given the following:

  • Training on the ELC and the UK Landscape Award 2010 – including information on whom you should approach and how to approach them
  • Training on how to be an effective Ambassador for the Award
  • A toolkit to support you in your discussions with potential candidates and jurors
  • Contact details of other Ambassadors and the Landscape Institute Branch in your area
  • Ongoing support from the Landscape Institute
